Miss World Philippines – Ifugao Valerie Claire West Presents Miss and Mr. What's Up New York Awards at Mr. and Miss Cordillera 2025

The cultural heartbeat of the Cordilleras echoed proudly during the Mr. and Miss Cordillera 2025 pageant, as two standout candidates were honored with the special titles of Miss and Mr. What's Up New York—recognitions presented by the New York-based media platform What’s Up New York. These awards celebrate emerging cultural ambassadors who embody the richness of Cordilleran heritage while resonating with global audiences.

Representing Mountain Province, Brynne Cessary Bayang was awarded Miss What's Up New York for her eloquence, cultural pride, and inspiring presence throughout the competition. Alongside her, John Henry Estacio of Ifugao received the Mr. What's Up New York title, recognized for his charisma, leadership, and commitment to advocacy.

Though not the overall winners of the pageant, both Brynne and John Henry stood out as voices of representation and promise—embodying the values that What’s Up New York seeks to uplift on its international platform.

The awards were personally presented by Valerie Claire West, the resident host of What’s Up New York and reigning Miss World Ifugao 2025. A biomedical engineer and certified EMT based in New York, Valerie returned to the Philippines to honor fellow Cordilleran youth during the coronation night held at the Baguio Convention and Cultural Center.

Valerie’s presence added depth and authenticity to the ceremony. As the reigning Miss World Philippines Ifugao 2025, she continues to advocate for health equity and cultural empowerment through her work with the PUSO Foundation.

“These titles are more than recognition—they’re invitations to represent our heritage with pride, wherever we go,” Valerie shared during the awarding.

The Mr. and Miss Cordillera pageant, revived after a decade-long hiatus, featured 21 candidates from across the region. The What's Up New York awards served as meaningful nods to individuals who exemplified cultural pride, eloquence, and potential for global impact.

For Brynne and John Henry, the titles mark the beginning of a broader journey—one that connects the highlands of the Philippines to the vibrant streets of New York, and beyond.
